TRACY, Calif. – June --, 2023 – Makenna Vlot of Chowchilla was selected as the 2023 Dairy Princess for the California Milk Advisory Board’s (CMAB) District 5 North in a crowning event on Wednesday, May 24, 2023.
Makenna will represent District 5 North, which includes Fresno and Madera counties. As Dairy Princess, she will play a key role on the CMAB’s Communications Services team in meeting community relations objectives.
Makenna is the daughter of Case and Darcy Vlot. She is actively involved in her family’s calf ranch operation, shows dairy cattle across the state of California, and is a member of her local Future Farmers of America Dairy Judging team. Makenna is also involved with the California Junior Holstein Association where she has participated in Dairy Bowl and Dairy Judging. Makenna will be a Senior at Golden Valley and she plans to attend Texas A&M or Oklahoma State University after graduation where she will major in Dairy Science.
Makenna’s duties as Dairy Princess will include speaking on behalf of the California dairy industry to various audiences throughout the year.
As Dairy Princess, Makenna will attend a professional development training focused on presentation skills, advocating for the California dairy industry, leadership, and business etiquette.
